What does your business do?

I have a blog called Sweet Little Nursery that talks about pregnancy and baby’s first year and a baby clothing line called Le Lait.

Why did you start it?

The idea to start Le Lait came from the frustration of not being able to find modern, trendy clothes for my own son. It was so hard to find something different, especially for boys. I realized there was a need for elegant, sophisticated gender neutral clothing for babies/toddlers. My designs are created to complement each other, in a stylish yet comfortable way.

How long have you been in business?

I’ve been blogging for over a year and have I just launched Le Lait.

What has running a business taught you about yourself?!

That I’m always way too hard on myself.

Which aspect of running your business do you like best?

I love the creative part, planning and researching on what comes next.

What’s your best tip for getting stuff done?

Make a list and don’t think too much on how or when, just get it done.

How do you pick yourself up on a bad day?

I love take my son out for a walk, it’s amazing how that clears my head and relaxes me.

(Wishful thinking!) I’m giving you $5000 (£2500) to spend only on your business. How will you spend it?

Marketing, marketing, marketing!!

I’ve got an employee for you. She will work 80 hours over the next 4 weeks. She’s very trustworthy and can do type of work. What would you get her to do?

Social networking to find customers. Since my business is a 100% online, finding customers and drive traffic to my site is very time consuming.

What are you most proud of?

That I finally started something that I don’t feel like giving up or lost interest in it.

When you turn a hobby you love into a business, it can drain a lot of the joy out of it, how do you keep it fun?

Always looking for the next thing to do, like how to improve some specific aspect of my business. There’s always room for improvement!

What keeps you going when it feels like what you’re trying to accomplish is so far off?

I know its a cliche but it works for me, divide into small tasks, and find things that can be done now that will add up to accomplish what is so far off.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

Never waste too much time feeling bad when you fail on something; count your losses and move on as quick as you can.

What’s your personal motto or favourite quote?

“Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over it becomes a butterfly.”

How do you manage business and family? Got any tips?

I plan everything around my son’s schedule. And when I cant, I cry for help. To me that is the key. Don’t try to do everything yourself, GET. HELP.  Especially in the areas that we lack the most. It’s too time consuming to try to figure out how to do everything, so just outsource what you can’t do.

What’s a small business you love or respect or admire?

There are two online shops that I really admire and also get all my inspiration from, one is called VonBon and the other one is Sugar Plum Lane
